54,900 € go to a good cause

FRICKE Social Run 2024 - FRICKE Group donates a record sum

In early summer the FRICKE Group called on its employees to support charitable organisations as part of the fifth annual FRICKE Social Run. Thanks to the outstanding commitment of its employees, the FRICKE Group donated a record total of €54,900 to ten regional projects in Germany and across Europe. Employees from 19 countries covered a distance of 27,448 kilometres for a good cause. Hans-Peter Fricke and his wife Kirsten Fricke awarded the donations to the German organisations at a ceremony in Heeslingen.

For five years now the FRICKE Group has been supporting social projects and clubs as part of the FRICKE Social Run. This year the employees of the FRICKE Group ran or walked a total of 27,448 kilometres during the four-week fundraising campaign. This exceeded the previous year's performance by more than 10,000 kilometres. With a donation of €2 per kilometre shared between ten regional projects in Germany and across Europe, a record sum of €54,900 was raised for a good cause.

A reason to celebrate
The FRICKE Social Run donations were awarded to the regional projects based in Germany at an event in Heeslingen. Managing Director of the FRICKE Group Hans-Peter Fricke and his wife Kirsten Fricke personally thanked representatives of the seven charitable organisations for their daily commitment.

“Our clubs and organisations are the key to cohesion and integration, and they are also important tools for work with children and young people. As I have been every year, I was deeply impressed by the commitment of all the volunteers who work with passion for our society. The fact that our employees around the world are now showing such commitment during the FRICKE Social Run is a sign of solidarity,” said Hans-Peter Fricke, Managing Director of the FRICKE Group.

A donation of €5490 was awarded to each organisation. These organisations include the SV Teutonia Steddorf e.V. sports club, the FC Ummel e.V. youth team, the Almedarter Brenken darts club from East Westphalia, the Förderverein der Grundschule Tarmstedt (Friends of Tarmstedt Primary School) and the Hassendorfer Spatzennest kindergarten. ASB Wünschewagen Niedersachsen, which helps terminally ill patients to fulfil their final wish, and the youth work organisation Hood Training from Bremen were also delighted to receive the donation.

Active worldwide
With 530 runners from 19 countries and 27,448 kilometres covered in 4170 individual runs, the FRICKE Social Run 2024 was the FRICKE Group’s most successful campaign of this kind to date. In addition to runners from European branches of the FRICKE Group such as Denmark, France, Spain, Great Britain and Poland, employees from the New Delhi branch in India and from Taipei in Taiwan also took part in the fundraising campaign.

The three European organisations were selected by the FRICKE Group employees themselves, and each received a donation of €5490. This year, the FRICKE Group is once again supporting a wide range of projects in Europe, from the Danish youth charity Headspace to an orphanage in Poland and a regional rugby club in France.
